MIELENOSOITUSOIKEUS TURVATTAVA!
Lauantaina 25.8. järjestettiin Tukholmassa Ruotsin työläisten lakko-oikeutta puolustava Strike Back -suurmielenosoitus, johon matkasi osallistujia ympäri Pohjoismaita ja Eurooppaa. Perjantai-iltana Ruotsin rajoilla otettiin kiinni seitsemän mielenosoitukseen matkalla ollutta ihmistä Ruotsin ulkomaalaislain perusteella. Sen mukaan poliisi voi Ruotsin rajalla ottaa kiinni tai käännyttää sellaisen ihmisen, jonka epäilee tulevan maahan rikollisin aikein.
Norjan rajalla otettiin kiinni kaksi ihmistä. Heidät vapautettiin vuorokauden kuluttua lauantai-iltana, kun Strike Back -mielenosoitus oli ohi. Tukholman laivaterminaalissa otettiin kiinni viisi Turusta tullutta turkulaista ja tamperelaista. Neljä heistä on sijoitettu säilöönottokeskuksiin Märstassa ja Gävlessä, ilmeisesti odottamaan karkotusta Ruotsista. Yksi kiinniotetuista ei ole saanut olla vielä minkäänlaisessa yhteydessä ulkomaailmaan, vaikka häntä on pidetty jo yli kolme vuorokautta.
Vaadimme että Tukholman viisikko vapautetaan heti! Mielenosoitusoikeus on turvattava!

DEFEND THE RIGHT TO DEMONSTRATE!
On Saturday the 25th, people from all over Northern Europe travelled to Stockholm for the Strike Back mass demonstration for the workers’ right to strike in Sweden. On Friday evening, seven people were detained at the Swedish borders. They were told by the police that they were detained on grounds of the Swedish law on foreigners. The law states that at the Swedish border the police can apprehend or refuse to admit anyone who they suspect is entering the country with the intent of committing a crime.
Two people were detained at the Norwegian border. They were set free on Saturday evening after the Strike Back demonstration had ended. Five people from Turku and Tampere who came on the ferry from Turku were detained at the ferry terminal in Stockholm. Four of them have been put in detention centres in Märsta and Gävle, presumably to await extradition to Finland. The fifth detainee has not yet had any chance to be in contact with the outside world even though they have been in custody for over three days.
We demand that the Stockholm Five be released immediately! The right to demonstrate must be defended!
